أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنْ الْمَذْيِ شِدَّةً، فَكُنْتُ أُكْثِرُ الْغُسْلَ مِنْهُ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ :" إِنَّمَا يُجْزِئُكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ "، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : فَكَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي مِنْهُ؟، قَالَ : " خُذْ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَانْضَحْهُ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَهُ "

Yazid ibn Harun informed us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, on the authority of Sa`id ibn Ubaid ibn al-Sabbaq, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Sahl ibn Hunaif May God be pleased with him. He said: I was vomiting pre-dhiyy severely, so I used to wash myself frequently, so I mentioned that to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. I asked him about it, and he said: “Only that ablution will suffice for you.” He said: I said: So what if it gets on my garment? He said: “Take a handful of water.” So sprinkle it wherever you think it hit it.”
