أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ" نَرْمِيَ الْجِمَارَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ ".
قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ

Amr ibn Aoun informed us, Khalid informed us, on the authority of Humaid al-Araj, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Muadh, that The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to command us to “throw the stones like gravel.”
It was said to Abu Muhammad: Does Abdul Rahman bin Muadh have any companions? He said: Yes
