Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1323

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ الْمَدَنِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" يَأْكُلُ بِثَلَاثِ أَصَابِعَ، وَلَا يَمْسَحُ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا "
Muhammad bin Issa told us, Abu Muawiyah told us, on the authority of Hisham bin Urwa, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Saad al-Madani, on the authority of Ibn Ka’b bin Malik, on the authority of his father, said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “used to eat with three fingers, and would not wipe his hand until he licked it.”
