حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي حُجْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِدْرَى يُخَلِّلُ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ، فَرَآهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ :" لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُنِي، لَطَعَنْتُ بِهَا فِي عَيْنَيْكَ ".
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ النَّظَرِ "

Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Al-Awza’i told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sahl bin Saad Al-Sa’idi, he told him that a man came out of a burrow in The room of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, there was a man in charge of putting his head through it, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, saw him. He greeted me and said: “If I had known that you were looking at me, I would have stabbed you in the eyes with it.”
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The permission was only given for the sake of looking.”
