Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2831

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ :" كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ الذِّكْرَ، وَيُقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ، وَيُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُقْصِرُ الْخُطْبَةَ، وَلَا يَأْنَفُ وَلَا يَسْتَنْكِفُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ مَعَ الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ فَيَقْضِيَ لَهُمَا حَاجَتَهُمَا "
Muhammad bin Humayd narrated to us, Al-Fadl bin Musa narrated to us, Al-Hussein bin Waqid narrated to us, on the authority of Yahya bin Aqeel, on the authority of Abdullah bin My father Awfa, may God be pleased with him, said: “The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to make abundant dhikr and talk less, lengthen the prayer, shorten the sermon, and never He is patient and does not hesitate to walk with the widow and the needy and fulfill their needs.”
