Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2879

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْ الْأَمْرِ :" أَكَانَ هَذَا؟ فَإِنْ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ، قَدْ كَانَ، حَدَّثَ فِيهِ بِالَّذِي يَعْلَمُ وَالَّذِي يَرَى، وَإِنْ قَالُوا : لَمْ يَكُنْ، قَالَ : فَذَرُوهُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ "
Al-Hakam bin Nafi’ informed us, Shu’ayb informed us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, he said: We have been informed that Zayd bin Thabit Al-Ansari, may God be pleased with him, was When he is asked about the matter, he says: “Was this? If they say: Yes, it happened, narrate it to him who knows and what he sees. And if they say: It did not happen, He said: “Leave it until it is.”
