أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ :" مَنْهُومَانِ لَا يَشْبَعَانِ : مَنْهُومٌ فِي الْعِلْمِ لَا يَشْبَعُ مِنْهُ، وَمَنْهُومٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَا يَشْبَعُ مِنْهَا، فَمَنْ تَكُنِ الْآخِرَةُ هَمَّهُ، وَبَثَّهُ، وَسَدَمَهُ، يَكْفِي اللَّهُ ضَيْعَتَهُ، وَيَجْعَلُ غِنَاهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ، وَمَنْ تَكُنِ الدُّنْيَا هَمَّهُ، وَبَثَّهُ، وَسَدَمَهُ، يُفْشِي اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ضَيْعَتَهُ، وَيَجْعَلُ فَقْرَهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ، ثُمَّ لَا يُصْبِحُ إِلَّا فَقِيرًا، وَلَا يُمْسِي إِلَّا فَقِيرًا "

Abdullah bin Ja`far al-Raqqi told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Amr, on the authority of Zaid, who is the son of Abi Unaisa, on the authority of Sayyar, on the authority of al-Hasan, He said: “There are two insatiable desires: one who is insatiable in knowledge and is not satisfied with it, and one who is insatiable in this world and is not satisfied with it. So who will the Hereafter be? His worries, and his spread, and his waste, God suffices for his loss, and places his riches in his heart, and whoever is the world’s concern, and his spread, and his waste, God will reveal He will bear his poverty, and will make his poverty before his eyes, and then he will not become anything but a poor person, and he will not enter the evening anything but a poor person.”
