    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ :" لَوْ رَفَقْتُ بِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، لَأَصَبْتُ مِنْهُ عِلْمًا كَثِيرًا "
    Abu Muammar Ismail bin Ibrahim told us, on the authority of Sufyan bin Uyaynah, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abu Salama, who said: “If I were to be kind to Ibn Abbas, I have acquired much knowledge from him.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ :" وُجِدَ أَكْثَرُ حَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ هَذَا الْحَيِّ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَاللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَآتِي الرَّجُلَ مِنْهُمْ، فَيُقَالُ : هُوَ نَائِمٌ، فَلَوْ شِئْتُ أَنْ يُوقَظَ لِي، فَأَدَعُهُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ لِأَسْتَطِيبَ بِذَلِكَ حَدِيثَهُ "
    Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Yunus told us, Abu Bakr told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Amr, on the authority of Abu Salamah bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, said: “Most of the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was found in this neighborhood of the Ansar. By God, I would go to one of the men, and it would be said: He is sleeping, so if I wanted him to wake me up, I would leave him until he came out so that I could enjoy his conversation.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِنْ آلِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا :" طَلَبْتُ الْعِلْمَ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُ فِي الْأَنْصَارِ، فَكُنْتُ آتِي الرَّجُلَ فَأَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ، فَيُقَالُ لِي : نَائِمٌ فَأَتَوَسَّدُ رِدَائِي، ثُمَّ أَضْطَجِعُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ إِلَى الظُّهْرِ، فَيَقُولُ : مَتَى كُنْتَ هَا هُنَا يَا ابْنَ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ؟، فَأَقُولُ : مُنْذُ زَمَنٍ طَوِيلٍ، فَيَقُولُ : بِئْسَ مَا صَنَعْتَ، هَلَّا أَعْلَمْتَنِي؟، فَأَقُولُ : أَرَدْتُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيَّ وَقَدْ قَضَيْتَ حَاجَتَكَ "
    Mukhlid bin Malik told us, Yahya bin Saeed the Umayyad told us, Al-Hajjaj told us, on the authority of Husayn bin Abdul Rahman from the family of Saad. Ibn Muadh, he said: Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, said: “I sought knowledge, but I did not find it more abundant than among the Ansar, so I used to go to the man and ask.” On his behalf, it would be said to me: He is sleeping, so I would cover my cloak, then I would lie down until he came out at noon, and he would say: When were you here, O cousin of the Messenger of God? God? So I say: A long time ago. He says: What you have done is miserable. Will you inform me? So I say: I wanted you to come out to me and you have fulfilled your need.

    أَخْبَرَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ القُشَيْرِيّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ دَاوُدُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" قُلْ لِصَاحِبِ الْعِلْمِ يَتَّخِذْ عَصًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، وَنَعْلَيْنِ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، وَيَطْلُبْ الْعِلْمَ، حَتَّى تَنْكَسِرَ الْعَصَا وَتَنْخَرِقَ النَّعْلَانِ "
    Nuaym bin Hammad told us, Baqiya told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Qushayri, he said: David the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said “Tell the possessor of knowledge to take an iron staff and two iron sandals, and seek knowledge until the staff breaks and the sandals are pierced.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي خَلْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، قَالَ :" كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ الرِّوَايَةَ بِالْبَصْرَةِ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ نَرْضَ حَتَّى رَكِبْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَسَمِعْنَاهَا مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ "
    Amr bin Zurarah told us, Abu Qatn told us, Amr bin Al-Haytham, on the authority of Abu Khalda, on the authority of Abu Al-Aliyah, he said: “We used to hear The narration in Basra on the authority of the Companions of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. We were not satisfied until we rode to Medina and heard it from their mouths. "

    أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بنْ مُسِلمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنَ بِنْ يزيدٍ بْنِ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ بُسْرَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ :" إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَرْكَبُ إِلَى مِصْرٍ مِنْ الْأَمْصَارِ فِي الْحَدِيثِ الْوَاحِدِ لِأَسْمَعَهُ "
    Al-Hakam bin Al-Mubarak told us, Al-Walid bin Muslim told us, on the authority of Abdul Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir, he said: I heard Busr bin Ubaid Allah, He says: “If I were to ride to Egypt from one place to another, I would hear a single hadith.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، قَالَ :" لَقَدْ أَقَمْتُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ ثَلَاثًا مَا لِي حَاجَةٌ إِلَّا وَقَدْ فَرَغْتُ مِنْهَا، إِلَّا أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانُوا يَتَوَقَّعُونَهُ، كَانَ يَرْوِي حَدِيثًا، فَأَقَمْتُ حَتَّى قَدِمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ "
    Muhammad bin Issa told us, Hammad bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Abu Qalaba, he said: “I have stayed in Medina for three days, and I have no need. I had finished it, but a man they were expecting was narrating a hadith, so I stayed until he came and asked him.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَخْبَرَةَ ، عَنْ سَخْبَرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" مَنْ طَلَبَ الْعِلْمَ، كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا مَضَى "
    Muhammad ibn Humayd informed us, Muhammad ibn al-Mu’alla informed us, Ziyad ibn Khaythamah informed us, on the authority of Abu Dawud, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Sakhabra, on the authority of Sakharah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Whoever seeks knowledge, it will be an atonement for what has passed.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ يَعِيشَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ حِينَ قَدِمَ الْبَصْرَةَ :" بَعَثَنِي إِلَيْكُمْ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أُعَلِّمُكُمْ كِتَابَ رَبِّكُمْ، وَسُنَّتَكُمْ، وَأُنَظِّفُ طُرُقَكُمْ "
    Ubaid bin Yaish told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Salih bin Rustum Al-Muzani, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Abu Musa, may God be pleased with him, that he said When he came to Basra: “Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, sent me to you to teach you the Book of your Lord and your Sunnah, and to purify your ways.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" إِذَا مَاتَ الْإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ : عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ، أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ تَجْرِي لَهُ، أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ "
    Musa bin Ismail told us, Ismail bin Ja’far Al-Madani told me, on the authority of Al-Ala’ bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah May God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: “If a person dies, his work ceases, except for three things: knowledge that benefits him, or Charity is given to him, or a righteous child prays for him.”
