  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1461

    حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَا يَخْطُبْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ وَلَا يَبِيعُ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ حَتَّى يَأْذَنَ لَهُ "
    Abdullah bin Saeed told us, Uqba bin Khalid told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah, he said: Nafi’ told me, on the authority of Ibn Umar: That the Messenger of God May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: “None of you shall propose as he proposes to his brother, nor should he make a sale as his brother does unless he gives him permission.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُنَهَى عَنْ أَنْ يَخْطُبَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ "
    Abu Al-Walid Al-Tayalisi told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Suhail bin Abi Saleh, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.     حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا رَفَّأَ لِإِنْسَانٍ، قَالَ :" بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ، وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ "
    Nu'aym bin Hammad told us, Abdul Aziz told us, on the authority of Suhail, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that Whenever he had compassion for someone, he would say: “May God bless you, and may God bless you, and bring you together in goodness.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ ، يَقُولُ : قَدِمَ عَقِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الْبَصْرَةَ ، فَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي جُشَمٍ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ : بِالرِّفَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ، فَقَالَ : لَا تَقُولُوا ذَلِكَ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ :" بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ، وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ "
    Muhammad ibn Kathir al-Abdi al-Basri informed us, Sufyan informed us, on the authority of Yunus, he said: I heard al-Hasan, saying: Aqeel ibn Ubai came. He sought Basra and married a woman from Banu Jashm. They told him: With prosperity and children. He said: Do not say that.     أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِي ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّهُ خَطَبَ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" اذْهَبْ، فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا، فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا "
    Qubaisa told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, on the authority of Bakr bin Abdullah Al-Muzani, on the authority of Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah He proposed to a woman from the Ansar, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: “Go and look at her, for she is more worthy of being engaged to.” "between you"

    حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" تُنْكَحُ النِّسَاءُ لِأَرْبَعٍ : لِلدِّينِ، وَالْجَمَالِ، وَالْمَالِ، وَالْحَسَبِ، فَعَلَيْكَ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاك ".
    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ
    Sadaqa bin Al-Fadl told us, Yahya bin Sa’id told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah, on the authority of Sa’id bin Abi Sa’id, on the authority of his father, on the authority of my father Huraira, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Women are married for four reasons: for religion, beauty, wealth, and lineage, so you must adhere to the same religion.” May your hands be blessed.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحِزَامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ الَّذِي كَانَ مِنْ تَرْكِ النِّسَاءِ، بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ : " يَا عُثْمَانُ إِنِّي لَمْ أُومَرْ بِالرَّهْبَانِيَّةِ أَرَغِبْتَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي؟ "، قَالَ : لَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، قَالَ :" إِنَّ مِنْ سُنَّتِي أَنْ أُصَلِّي، وَأَنَام، وَأَصُومَ، وَأَطْعَمَ، وَأَنْكِحَ، وَأُطَلِّقَ، فَمَنْ رَغِبَ عَنْ سُنَّتِي، فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي يَا عُثْمَانُ، إِنَّ لِأَهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا، وَلِنَفْسِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا ".
    قَالَ سَعْدٌ : فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ كَانَ أَجْمَعَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَلَى أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ هُوَ أَقَرَّ عُثْمَانَ عَلَى مَا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ نَخْتَصِيَ فَنَتَبَتَّلَ
    Muhammad bin Yazid Al-Hazami told us, Yunus bin Bukayr told us, Ibn Ishaq told me, Al-Zuhri told me, on the authority of Sa’id bin Al-Musayyab, On the authority of Saad bin Abi Waqqas, he said: When it came to the matter of Uthman bin Mad’un, who had abandoned women, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sent to him He greeted him and said: “O Uthman, I was not commanded to become a monastic. Have you abandoned my Sunnah?” He said: No, O Messenger of God. He said: “It is part of my Sunnah to pray. And I sleep, and I fast, and I feed, and I marry and I divorce, so whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me, O Uthman. Your family has a right over you, and over yourself. "You are right."
    Saad said: By God, there was unanimous agreement among the Muslims that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, confirmed that Othman was the way he was. We must be cleansed and baptized

    أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : "نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ التَّبَتُّلِ "
    Ishaq told us, Hammad bin Masada told us, Al-Ash’ath bin Abdul-Malik told us, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Saad bin Hisham, on the authority of Aisha said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade celibacy.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، يَقُولُ :" لَقَدْ رَدَّ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ، وَلَوْ أَجَازَ لَهُ التَّبَتُّلَ، لَاخْتَصَيْنَا "
    Abu Al-Yaman told us, Shuaib told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, Saeed bin Al-Musayyab told me, that he heard Saad bin Abi Waqqas, saying “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, responded to that against Uthman, and if he had allowed him to become a celibate person, we would have been isolated.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَة ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : لَقِيَهُ عُثْمَانُ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَلْ لَكَ فِي جَارِيَةٍ بِكْرٍ تُذَكِّرُك؟، فَقَالَ : قُلْتَ : ذَاكَ فَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الشَّبَابِمَنْ كَانَ يَسْتَطِيعُ مِنْكُمْ الْبَاءَةَ فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ فَإِنَّهُ أَغَضُّ لِلْبَصَرِ وَأَحْصَنُ لِلْفَرْجِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَلْيَصُمْ فَإِنَّ الصَّوْمَ لَهُ وِجَاءٌ "
    Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Alqamah, on the authority of Abdullah, he said: Uthman met him And I was with him, so he said to him: O Abu Abdul Rahman, do you have a virgin maid who reminds you? He said: I said: That is because I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace. He says: “O young people, whoever among you is able to do so, let him get married, for it will lower one’s gaze and protect one’s chastity.” And whoever is not able, let him fast, for fasting is a reward for him.”
