  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1973

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا أَوْ دَمًا خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا "
    Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, Hanzalah told us, on the authority of Salim, on the authority of Ibn Umar, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: To be filled with “It is better for one of you’s stomach to be filled with pus or blood than to be filled with hair.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ هُوَ : ابْنُ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكْمَةً "
    Abu Asim told us, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, on the authority of Ziyad. He is: Ibn Saad. He said: He told me that Ibn Shihab told him on the authority of Abu Bakr. Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Hisham, on the authority of Marwan Bin Al Hakam, on the authority of Abdul Rahman Bin Al Aswad Bin Abdul Yaghouth, on the authority of Ubayy Bin Kaab, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “Indeed, from poetry there is wisdom.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ :صَدَّقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمَيَّةَ بْنَ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ فِي بَيْتَيْنِ مِنْ الشِّعْرِ، فَقَالَ : رَجُلٌ وَثَوْرٌ تَحْتَ رِجْلِ يَمِينِهِ وَالنَّسْرُ لِلْأُخْرَى وَلَيْثٌ مُرْصَدُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَدَقَ ".
    قَالَ : وَالشَّمْسُ تَطْلُعُ كُلَّ آخِرِ لَيْلَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ يُصْبِحُ لَوْنُهَا يَتَوَرَّدُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَدَقَ ".
    فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ : تَأْبَى فَمَا تَطْلُعُ لَنَا فِي رِسْلِهَا إِلَّا مُعَذَّبَةً وَإِلَّا تُجْلَدُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَدَقَ "
    Muhammad bin Isa told us, Abdah bin Sulayman told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ishaq, on the authority of Yaqoub bin Utba, on the authority of Ikrimah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, spoke the truth about Umayyah ibn Abi al-Salt in two verses of poetry, and said: A man and a bull under his right foot. The eagle, for the other, is a watchful heir, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “He has spoken the truth.”
    He said: And the sun rises every last night, red, and its color becomes rosy, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “He is right.”
    Someone said: She refuses, so she does not appear to us in her messengers unless she is punished, or else she will be flogged. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “He has spoken the truth.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1970

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" وَيْلٌ لِلَّذِي يُحَدِّثُ فَيَكْذِبُ لِيُضْحِكَ بِهِ الْقَوْمَ، وَيْلٌ لَهُ ! وَيْلٌ لَهُ ! "
    Yazid bin Harun told us, Bahz bin Hakim told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, He says: “Woe to the one who speaks and lies to make the people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1969

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ L5403 ، عَنِ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ غُلَامٌ يَسُوقُ بِأَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ :" يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، رُوَيْدًا سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ "
    Abu Asim told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Ubaid L5403, on the authority of Anas, who said: A boy used to drive the wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, He said: “O Anjasha, slowly bring your food to the market with bottles.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" لَا تَقُولُوا لِحَائِطِ الْعِنَبِ الْكَرْمُ، إِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ "
    Yazid bin Harun informed us, Muhammad informed us, he is: Ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Salih bin Ibrahim, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Do not call a wall of grapes generosity, rather generosity belongs to the Muslim man.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنِ الطُّفَيْلِ أَخِي عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ : نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ تَقُولُونَ : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، وَشَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ .
    فَسَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ :" لَا تَقُولُوا : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَشَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ ، وَلَكِنْ، قُولُوا : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ شَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ "
    Yazid ibn Harun informed us, Shu`bah informed us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, on the authority of Rab`i ibn Harash, on the authority of al-Tufayl, my brother Aisha, he said: A man from among the polytheists said to a man from among the Muslims: What an excellent people you are, had you not said: What God wills, and He wills. Mohammed .
    So the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, heard it and said: “Do not say: What God willed and Muhammad willed, but rather say: God willed, then Muhammad willed.”

    حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قالَ : كَانَ اسْمُ زَيْنَبَ ، بَرَّةَ ،" فَسَمَّاهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْنَبَ "
    Musaddad narrated to us, Yahya bin Saeed narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, Ata bin Abi Maimunah narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Rafi’, on the authority of Abu Hurairah. He said: Zainab’s name was Barra, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, named her Zainab.

    حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ هُوَ : ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنَّ أُمَّ عَاصِمٍ كَانَ يُقَالُ لَهَا عَاصِيَةُ ،" فَسَمَّاهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمِيلَةَ "
    Hajjaj bin Minhal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us: Ibn Salamah, on the authority of Ubayd Allah, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar: that Umm Asim was said to She has a disobedient character, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, called her beautiful.

    أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْنُسَمِّيَ أَرِقَّاءَنَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَسْمَاءٍ : أَفْلَحُ، وَنَافِعٌ، وَرَبَاحٌ، وَيَسَارٌ "
    Zakaria bin Adiy told us, Mu`tamar told us, on the authority of Al-Rukain, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Samurah: That the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade We give our slaves four names: Aflah, Nafi’, Rabah, and Yasar.”
