  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1943

    أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَرَّاحِ مَوْلَى أَمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" الْعِيرُ الَّتِي فِيهَا الْجَرَسُ، لَا تَصْحَبُهَا الْمَلَائِكَة "
    Al-Hakam bin Al-Mubarak told us, Malik told us, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Salim, on the authority of Abu Al-Jarrah, the client of Umm Habibah, on the authority of Umm Habibah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: “The caravan in which there is a bell is not accompanied by angels.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1942

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ :" كُنَّا إِذَا صَعِدْنَا، كَبَّرْنَا، وَإِذَا هَبَطْنَا، سَبَّحْنَا "
    Ahmad bin Abdullah told us, Abu Zubayd told us, on the authority of Husayn, on the authority of Salem, on the authority of Jabir, he said: “When we ascended, we would say “Allahu Akbar,” And when we descended, we glorified Him.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَارِقِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَافَرَ فَرَكِبَ رَاحِلَتَهُ ،كَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا وَيَقُولُ : " # سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ { 13 } وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ { 14 } سورة الزخرف آية 13-14 #.
    اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِي هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى، وَمِنْ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى.
    اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ، وَاطْوِ لَنَا بُعْدَ الْأَرْضِ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ اصْحَبْنَا فِي سَفَرِنَا، وَاخْلُفْنَا فِي أَهْلِنَا بِخَيْرٍ "
    Yahya bin Hassan told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Abu Al-Zubayr, on the authority of Ali bin Abdullah Al-Bariqi, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Omar: When the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would ride his mount, he would say “Allahu Akbar” three times and say: “Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us.” And We would not be near to Him. {13} And indeed, to our Lord we will return. {14} Surat Al-Zukhruf, verse 13-14 #.
    Oh God, I ask you on this journey of righteousness and piety, and of deeds that please you.
    Oh God, make the journey easy for us, and extend the distance of the earth for us. Oh God, you are the companion on the journey and the successor to the family. Oh God, accompany us on our travel, And leave us well among our families.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1940

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ هُوَ الْأَحْوَلُ ، قَالَ : وَثَبَّتَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَافَرَ، قَالَ :" اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ، وَالْحَوْرِ بَعْدَ الْكَوْرِ، وَدَعْوَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ، وَسُوءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ "
    Yazid ibn Harun informed us, Asim informed us, he is the wisest, he said: Shu`bah confirmed me, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Sarjis, he said: It was When the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, travelled, he said: “O God, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, the gloom of a turning point, and the turmoil after a long journey. And the supplication of the oppressed, and the bad outlook on family and money.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1939

    حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي كَعْبٍ : أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ السَّفَرَ.
    فَقَالَ لَهُ : " مَتَى؟ ".
    قَالَ : غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ.
    قَالَ : فَأَتَاهُ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ :" فِي حِفْظِ اللَّهِ، وَفِي كَنَفِهِ، زَوَّدَكَ اللَّهُ التَّقْوَى، وَغَفَرَ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ، وَوَجَّهَكَ لِلْخَيْرِ أَيْنَمَا تَوَخَّيْتَ أَوْ أَيْنَمَا تَوَجَّهْتَ ".
    شَكَّ سَعِيدٌ فِي إِحْدَى الْكَلِمَتَيْنِ
    Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated to us, Sa’id bin Abi Ka’b narrated to us: Abu Al-Hasan Al-Abdi, he said: Musa bin Maysarah Al-Abdi narrated to me, on the authority of Anas bin Malik said: A man came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said to him: O Prophet of God, I want to travel.
    He said to him: “When?”
    He said: Tomorrow, God willing.
    He said: So he came to him, took his hand, and said to him: “In God’s protection and under His care, God has given you piety, forgiven your sins, and guided you.” For good wherever you seek or wherever you turn.”
    Saeed doubted one of the two words.

    أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" السَّفَرُ قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ الْعَذَابِ يَمْنَعُ أَحَدَكُمْ نَوْمَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ، فَإِذَا قَضَى أَحَدُكُمْ نَهْمَتَهُ مِنْ وَجْهِهِ فَلْيُعَجِّلْ الرَّجْعَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ "
    Khalid bin Mukhlid told us, Malik told us, on the authority of Sumayy, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said He said: “Travelling is a piece of torment that deprives one of you of his sleep, food, and drink. So if one of you fulfills his hunger in front of him, let him hasten.” "Return to his family"

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" ارْكَبُوا هَذِهِ الدَّوَابَّ سَالِمَةً، وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوهَا كَرَاسِيَّ ".
    أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ اللَّيْثِ ، .

    . إِلَّا أَنَّهُ مُخَالِفٌ شَبَابَةَ فِي شَيْءٍ

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : وَقَدْ صَحِبَ أَبُوهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" عَلَى ذِرْوَةِ كُلِّ بَعِيرٍ شَيْطَانٌ، فَإِذَا رَكِبْتُمُوهَا فَسَمُّوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُقَصِّرُوا عَنْ حَاجَاتِكُمْ "
    Ubayd Allah ibn Musa informed us, on the authority of Usama ibn Zayd, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Hamza ibn Amr al-Aslami, he said: His father accompanied the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: I heard my father say: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “At the top of every camel is a devil. “Whenever you ride it, give glory to God, and do not fall short of your needs.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاق بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ، وَمَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ وَكَانَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى الْكُوفَةِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْنَا قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَأَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنِ لِلصَّلَاةِ، وَقُلْنَا لِقَيْسٍ : قُمْ فَصَلِّ لَنَا، فَقَالَ : لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُصَلِّيَ بِقَوْمٍ لَسْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِأَمِيرٍ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لَيْسَ بِدُونِهِ.
    يُقَالُ لَهُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ الْغَسِيلِ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" الرَّجُلُ أَحَقُّ بِصَدْرِ دَابَّتِهِ، وَصَدْرِ فِرَاشِهِ، وَأَنْ يَؤُمَّ فِي رَحْلِهِ "، فَقَالَ قَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ : يَا فُلَانُ لِمَوْلًى لَهُ : قُمْ فَصَلِّ لَهُمْ
    Saeed bin Sulaiman told us, on the authority of Ishaq bin Yahya bin Talha, on the authority of Al-Musayyab bin Rafi’, and Ma’bad bin Khalid, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Yazid Al-Khattimi, who was the Emir of Kufa, said: We came to Qays Ibn Saad Ibn Ubadah in his house, so the muezzin called for prayer, and we said Laqais: Get up and pray for us. He said: I would not lead people in prayer over whom I do not have a leader. Then a man who is not without him said.
    He is called: Abdullah bin Hanzalah bin Al-Ghaseel: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “A man has more right to the chest of his animal, and the his bed, and to lead him on his journey.” Then Qais bin Sa’d said at that: O so-and-so’s servant of his: get up and pray for them.

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَاقَفَلَ، تُلُقِّيَ بِي وَبِالْحَسَنِ أَوْ بِالْحُسَيْنِ، قَالَ : وَأُرَاهُ قَالَ : الْحَسَنَ فَحَمَلَنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَالْحَسَنَ وَرَاءَهُ، حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ وَنَحْنُ عَلَى الدَّابَّةِ الَّتِي عَلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
    Abu Al-Numan told us, Thabit bin Yazid told us, he said: Asim Al-Ahwal told us, on the authority of Muwarriq, on the authority of Abdullah bin Jaafar, he said “Whenever the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to meet me and Al-Hasan or Al-Hussein, he said: And I see him saying: Al-Hasan, so he carried me in his hands. And goodness came after it, until we approached Medina while we were riding the animal on which the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was riding.”
