  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1066

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ، وَكَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ تَصُومُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَصُومَهُ، فَلْيَصُمْهُ، فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُ فَلْيَتْرُكْهُ ".
    وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَا يَصُومُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُوَافِقَ صِيَامَهُ
    Ya’la told us, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Ishaq, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “This is the day Ashura, and the Quraysh used to fast it in pre-Islamic times, so whoever among you likes to fast it, let him fast it, and whoever among you likes should leave it. Let him leave it.”
    Ibn Umar would not fast unless it coincided with his fast.

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ : " إِنَّالْيَوْمَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَمَنْ كَانَ أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، فَلْيُتِمَّ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، فَلْيَصُمْهُ "
    Abu Asim informed us, on the authority of Yazid ibn Abi Ubaid, on the authority of Salamah ibn al-Akwa’, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sent on the day of Ashura A Muslim man said: “Today is the day of Ashura, so whoever has eaten or drank, let him complete the rest of his day, and whoever has not eaten or drank, let him complete the rest of his day. Let him fast on it.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ،" وَيَأْمُرُنَا بِصِيَامِهِ "
    Ubaid Allah bin Abdul Majeed told us, Ibn Abi Dhib told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, used to fast on the day of Ashura, and he commanded us to fast on the same day.

    أَخْبَرَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، وَالْيَهُودُ يَصُومُونَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَسَأَلَهُمْ، فَقَالُوا : هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي ظَهَرَ فِيهِ مُوسَى عَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ.
    فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" أَنْتُمْ أَوْلَى بِمُوسَى فَصُومُوهُ "
    Sahl bin Hammad told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Sa’id bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that he said: He presented The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was in Medina, and the Jews were fasting on the day of Ashura. He asked them, and they said: This is the day on which Moses appeared. On Pharaoh.
    Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “You are more deserving of Moses, so fast on his behalf.”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، وَأَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ الْمُحَرَّمُ "
    Abu Nu`aym told us, Yahya bin Hassan told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Humaid bin Abdul Rahman. Al-Himyari, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The best fasting is after the Muharram month of Ramadan.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُحَرَّمَ "
    Zayd bin Awf told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, on the authority of Muhammad bin al-Muntashir, on the authority of Humaid bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The best fast after the month of Ramadan is the month of God, which you call upon.” "the forbidden"

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ شَهْرٍ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ يَصُومُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ : مَا سَأَلَنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ هَذَا بَعْدَ إِذْ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ شَهْرٍ يَصُومُهُ مِنْ السَّنَةِ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ.فَأَمَرَهُ بِصِيَامِ الْمُحَرَّمِ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّ فِيهِ يَوْمًا تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَى قَوْمٍ وَيَتُوبُ فِيهِ عَلَى قَوْمٍ "
    Muhammad bin Saeed narrated to us, Muhammad bin Fudayl narrated to us, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq, on the authority of al-Nu’man bin Sa’d, who said: A man came to Ali asked him about the month after the month of Ramadan that he fasts, and Ali said to him: No one has asked me about this after I heard a man ask the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace: Which month of the year should he fast after the month of Ramadan? So he commanded him to fast Muharram, and said: “Indeed, therein is a day in which God repents to A people, and therein a people will repent.”

    حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الذِّمَارِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" صِيَامُ شَهْرٍ بِعَشَرَةِ أَشْهُرٍ، وَسِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ بَعْدَهُنَّ بِشَهْرَيْنِ، فَذَلِكَ تَمَامُ سَنَةٍ "، يَعْنِي شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ، وَسِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ بَعْدَهُ
    Yahya bin Hassan told us, Yahya bin Hamza told us, Yahya bin Al-Harith Al-Dhamari told us, on the authority of Abu Asma Al-Rahbi, on the authority of Thawban, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Fasting one month for ten months, and fasting six days after them for two months, that is “The completion of a year,” meaning the month of Ramadan, and six days after it.

    حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ ، وسَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ سِتَّةً مِنْ شَوَّالٍ، فَذَلِكَ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ "
    Nuaym bin Hammad told us, Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad told us, Safwan and Saad bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Omar bin Thabit, on the authority of Abu Ayyub On the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, that is fasting for a lifetime.”

    حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ قَزَعَةَ مَوْلَى زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَا صَوْمَ يَوْمَيْنِ : يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ "
    Sa'id bin Amir told us, on the authority of Shu'bah, on the authority of Abd al-Malik bin Umair, on the authority of Qaza'ah, the servant of Ziyad, on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, on the authority of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “There is no fasting on two days: the Day of Breakfast and the Day of Sacrifice.”
