  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1046

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحَنَفِيُّ يُقَالُ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِذَا كَانَ النِّصْفُ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ، فَأَمْسِكُوا عَنْ الصَّوْمِ ".
    أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، نَحْوَ هَذَا
    Abd al-Samad bin Abd al-Warith told us, Abd al-Rahman al-Hanafi told us, it is said: Abd al-Rahman bin Ibrahim, on the authority of al-Ala, on the authority of his father On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If it is the middle of Sha`ban, then abstain from fasting.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1045

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ :" مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَامَ شَهْرًا تَامًّا إِلَّا شَعْبَانَ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصِلُهُ بِرَمَضَانَ لِيَكُونَا شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ، وَكَانَ يَصُومُ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لَا يُفْطِرُ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ : لَا يَصُومُ "
    Ubayd Allah told us, on the authority of Israel, on the authority of Mansour, on the authority of Salim, on the authority of Abu Salama, on the authority of Umm Salamah, she said: “I did not see the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace, he fasted a complete month except Sha`ban, for he used to connect it with Ramadan to be two consecutive months, and he used to fast from the month until… We say: He does not break the fast, and he breaks the fast until we say: He does not fast.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1044

    أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَوْلَاةً لَنَا يُقَالُ لَهَا لَيْلَى تُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا أُمِّ عُمَارَةَ بِنْتِ كَعْبٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا، فَدَعَتْ لَهُ بِطَعَامٍ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : " كُلِي ".
    فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي صَائِمَةٌ.
    فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّالصَّائِمَ إِذَا أُكِلَ عِنْدَهُ، صَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يَفْرُغُوا، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ : حَتَّى يَقْضُوا أَكْلَهُمْ "
    Hashim bin Al-Qasim told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Habib Al-Ansari, who said: I heard a servant of ours called Laila speaking, about Her grandmother, Umm Amara bint Kaab, said that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered upon her, and she called for food for him, and he said to her: “Eat.”
    She said: I am fasting.
    Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “When a fasting person eats with him, the angels pray over him until they finish, and perhaps he says: until they make up for it.” "ate them"

    أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ، فَلْيَقُلْ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ "
    Hajjaj bin Minhal told us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Abu Al-Zinad, on the authority of Al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God said: God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “If one of you is invited to a meal while he is fasting, let him say: I am fasting.”

    حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ، جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ فَجَلَسَتْ عَنْ يَسَارِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُمُّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ.
    قَالَتْ : فَجَاءَتْ الْوَلِيدَةُ بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ شَرَابٌ فَنَاوَلَتْهُ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ ، فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، لَقَدْ أَفْطَرْتُ، وَكُنْتُ صَائِمَةً.
    فَقَالَ لَهَا :" أَكُنْتِ تَقْضِينَ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَتْ : لَا.
    قَالَ : " فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ إِنْ كَانَ تَطَوُّعًا ".
    قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : أَقُولُ بِهِ
    Othman bin Muhammad narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, on the authority of Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Harith, on the authority of Umm Hani, she said: When It was the day of the conquest of Mecca. Fatima came and sat to the left of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Umm Hani to his right.
    She said: Then the newborn brought a vessel containing drink, so she gave him a drink. He drank from it, then gave it to Umm Hani, and she drank from it and then said: Oh. Messenger of God, I broke my fast and was fasting.
    He said to her: “Were you making up for anything?” She said: No.
    He said: “It does not harm you if it was voluntary.”
    Abu Muhammad said: I say so

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1041

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ هَارُونَ ابْنِ ابْنَةِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ أَوْ ابْنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ صَائِمَةٌ، فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهَا فَشَرِبَتْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنْ كَانَ قَضَاءَ رَمَضَانَ، فَصُومِي يَوْمًا آخَرَ، وَإِنْ كَانَ تَطَوُّعًا، فَإِنْ شِئْتِ، فَاقْضِيهِ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ، فَلَا تَقْضِيهِ "
    Abu Al-Numan told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Samak bin Harb, on the authority of Harun ibn Umm Hani’s daughter, or Ibn Umm Hani, on the authority of Umm Hani, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered upon her while she was fasting, so a vessel was brought to her and she drank, then he gave it to her and she drank. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If it is the fulfillment of Ramadan, then fast another day, and if it is voluntary, then if you wish, make it up, and if Whatever you wish, do not make it up.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرٌ هُوَ ابْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ مَوْلَى سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ : # وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ سورة البقرة آية 184 #، قَالَ :" كَانَ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ وَيَفْتَدِيَ، فَعَلَ، حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي بَعْدَهَا، فَنَسَخَتْهَا "
    Abdullah bin Salih told us, Bakr, who is Ibn Mudar, told me, on the authority of Amr bin Al-Harith, on the authority of Yazid, the client of Salamah bin Al-Akwa’, on the authority of Salamah, that he said: When this verse was revealed: #And upon those who are able to bear it is a ransom of feeding a poor person. Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 184 #, he said: “It was Whoever wanted to break his fast and make a ransom, he did so, until the next verse was revealed and abrogated it.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1039

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، وَكَانَ جَدِّي قَدْ أُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، وَقَالَ :" لَا تَكْتَحِلْ بِالنَّهَارِ وَأَنْتَ صَائِمٌ، اكْتَحِلْ لَيْلًا، بِالْإِثْمِدِ، فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعَرَ ".
    قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : لَا أَرَى بِالْكُحْلِ بَأْسًا
    Abu Nu`aym told us, Abd al-Rahman bin al-Nu`man Abu al-Nu`man al-Ansari told us, my father told me, on the authority of my grandfather, and my grandfather had come With it, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, wiped his head and said: “Do not use kohl during the day while you are fasting. Use kohl at night, with antimony. He sharpens sight and makes hair grow.”
    Abu Muhammad said: I do not see anything wrong with using kohl.

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ بَشَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مَا لَمْ يَخْرِقْهَا ".
    قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : يَعْنِي : بِالْغِيبَةِ
    Amr bin Aoun told us, Khaled bin Abdullah told us, on the authority of Wasil the client of Abu Uyaynah, on the authority of Bashar bin Abi Saif, on the authority of Al-Walid Ibn Abd al-Rahman, on the authority of Iyad Ibn Ghaytif, on the authority of Abu Ubaidah Ibn al-Jarrah, who said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: Fasting is a paradise as long as one does not break it.”
    Abu Muhammad said: This means: by backbiting.

    أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ ثَوْبَانَ حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْشِي بِالْبَقِيعِ إِذَا رَجُلٌ يَحْتَجِمُ، فَقَالَ :" أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ ".
    قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : أَنَا أَتَّقِي الْحِجَامَةَ فِي الصَّوْمِ فِي رَمَضَانَ
    Wahb bin Jarir told us, Hisham told us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Abu Qalabah, that Abu Asma al-Rahbi told him, that Thawban He told him, he said: While the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was walking in Al-Baqi’, when a man was performing cupping, so he said: “The cupper and the one being cupped have broken their fast.”
    Abu Muhammad said: I fear cupping while fasting in Ramadan.
