  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1026

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَا تَصُومُ الْمَرْأَةُ يَوْمًا تَطَوُّعًا فِي غَيْرِ رَمَضَانَ، وَزَوْجُهَا شَاهِدٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ "
    Muhammad bin Ahmad told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Abu al-Zinad, on the authority of al-Araj, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, He said: “A woman should not fast voluntarily for any day other than Ramadan, while her husband is a witness, except with his permission.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1025

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِامْرَأَةٍ :" لَا تَصُومِي إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ "
    Yazid bin Harun informed us, Sharik informed us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said to a woman: “Do not fast except with His permission.”

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1024

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي بْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبَّادَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ احْتَرَقَ، فَسَأَلَهُ : مَا لَهُ؟ فَقَالَ :أَصَابَ أَهْلَهُ فِي رَمَضَانَ.
    فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِكْتَلٍ يُدْعَى الْعَرَقَ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ الْمُحْتَرِقُ؟ " فَقَامَ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ : " تَصَدَّقْ بِهَذَا "
    Yazid bin Harun told us, Yahya told us, meaning bin Saeed Al-Ansari, that Abdul Rahman bin Al-Qasim told him that Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Al-Zubayr told him that he heard Abbad bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, that he heard Aisha say: A man asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: He was burned, so he asked him: What happened to him? He said: He treated his family in Ramadan.
    Then a lump of dates was brought to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said: “Where is the burnt?” Then the man got up and said: “Give this in charity.”

    حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ : هَلَكْتُ؟ فَقَالَ : " وَمَا أَهْلَكَكَ؟ قَالَ : وَاقَعْتُ امْرَأَتِي فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، قَالَ :" فَأَعْتِقْ رَقَبَةً ".
    قَالَ : لَيْسَ عِنْدِي.
    قَالَ : " فَصُمْ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ ".
    قَالَ : لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ.
    قَالَ : " فَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ".
    قَالَ : لَا أَجِدُ.
    قَالَ : فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَقٍ فِيهِ تَمْرٌ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ؟ تَصَدَّقْ بِهَذَا ".
    فَقَالَ : أَعَلَى أَفْقَرَ مِنْ أَهْلِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا أَهْلُ بَيْتٍ أَفْقَرَ مِنَّا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَأَنْتُمْ إِذًا " وَضَحِكَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ أَنْيَابُهُ.
    حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَفْطَرَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
    Suleiman bin Daoud Al-Hashimi told us, Ibrahim bin Saad told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Humaid bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Hurairah He said: A man came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: Have you perished? He said: “And what destroyed you?” He said: “I had intercourse with my wife during the month of Ramadan.” He said: “So free a slave.”
    He said: I don't have it.
    He said: “Then fast for two consecutive months.”
    He said: I cannot.
    He said: “Feed sixty poor people.”
    He said: I don't find it.
    He said: Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought a basket containing dates, and he said: “Where is the beggar? Give this in charity.”
    He said: Am I poorer than my family, O Messenger of God? By God, there is not among her two daughters any household poorer than us. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Then you are.” He laughed until it seemed His fangs.
    Ubayd Allah bin Abdul Majeed told us, Malik told us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Humaid bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that A man broke his fast in Ramadan and mentioned the hadith

    أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُطَوِّسِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ رَخَّصَهُ اللَّهُ لَهُ، لَمْ يَقْضِ عَنْهُ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ "
    Abu Al-Walid told us, Shu’bah told us, Habib bin Abi Thabit told me, he said: I heard Amara bin Umair speaking, on the authority of Abu Al-Mutawus, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever breaks the fast on a day of Ramadan without permission God granted it to him, and it does not suffice for him to fast for a lifetime.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُطَوِّسِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ وَلَا مَرَضٍ، فَلَا يَقْضِيَهِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ "
    Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Habib ibn Abi Thabit, on the authority of Ibn al-Mutawus, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever breaks his fast on a day of the month of Ramadan without a permission or illness, will not make it up to fast for a lifetime.” All of it, even if he fasts for a lifetime.”

    حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّ كُلَيْبَ بْنَ ذُهْلٍ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : رَكِبْتُ مَعَ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ سَفِينَةً مِنْ الْفُسْطَاطِ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَدَفَعَ،فَقَرَّبَ غَدَاءَهُ.
    ثُمَّ قَالَ : اقْتَرِبْ.
    فَقُلْتُ : أَلَسْتَ تَرَى الْبُيُوتَ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَصْرَةَ : " أَرَغِبْتَ عَنْ سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ "
    Abdullah ibn Yazid al-Muqri narrated to us, Sa`id ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to us, Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, that Kulayb ibn Dhuhl Al-Hadrami told him, on the authority of Ubaid bin Jubayr, who said: I rode with Abu Basra Al-Ghafari on a ship from Fustat in Ramadan, so he paid, and he approached. His lunch.
    Then he said: Come closer.
    So I said: Don't you see the houses? Abu Basra said: “Did you ignore the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?”

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَاجِرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا ذَهَبْتُ لِأَخْرُجَ، قَالَ : " انْتَظِرْ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ ".
    قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ.
    فَقَالَ :" تَعَالَ أُخْبِرْكَ عَنْ الْمُسَافِرِ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ، وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ ".
    قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : إِنْ شَاءَ، صَامَ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ، أَفْطَرَ
    Abu Al-Mughirah told us, Al-Awza’i told us, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Abu Qalaba, on the authority of Abu Al-Muhajir, on the authority of Abu Umayyah Al-Damari, he said: I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, from a journey and I greeted him. When I went out, he said: “Wait for lunch, Abu Umayyah.”
    He said: So I said: I am fasting, O Prophet of God.
    He said: “Come, I will tell you about the traveler. God has exempted fasting from him and half of the prayer.”
    Abu Muhammad said: If he wishes, he may fast, and if he wishes, he may break his fast.

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَيْسَ مِنْ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ "
    Muhammad bin Ahmad told us, Sufyan told us, Al-Zuhri told us, on the authority of Safwan bin Abdullah bin Safwan, on the authority of Umm al-Darda’, on the authority of Ka’b bin Asim Al-Ash’ari, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “It is not righteous to fast while traveling.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" لَيْسَ مِنْ الْبِرِّ الصِّيَامُ فِي السَّفَرِ "
    Othman bin Muhammad told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Safwan bin Abdullah, on the authority of Umm Al-Darda, on the authority of Ka’b bin Asim Al-Ash’ari, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “It is not righteous to fast while traveling.”
