He found a lizard with her. An animal that was brought to her by her sister, Hafidah Bint Al-Harith, from Najd. She presented the lizard to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he rarely presented his hand. For food to be spoken of and to be called for. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, moved his hand to the lizard, and a woman from the women present said: Tell the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, what you presented to him.
They said: This is a lizard. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, raised his hand, and Khaled bin Al-Walid said: Do you prohibit the lizard, O Messenger of God? He said: “No, but he was not in the land of my people, so I find myself avoiding him.”
Khaled said: So I chewed it and ate it, while the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was watching, but he did not forbid me.
