أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ هُوَ ابْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ عِيسَى ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ :" إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْمُقَايَسَةَ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَئِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِالْمُقَايَسَةِ لَتُحِلُّنَّ الْحَرَامَ وَلَتُحَرِّمُنَّ الْحَلَالَ، وَلَكِنْ مَا بَلَغَكُمْ عَمَّنْ حَفِظَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاعْمَلُوا بِهِ "

Ismail bin Aban told us, Hatim, the son of Ishmael, told us, on the authority of Issa, on the authority of Ash-Sha’bi, who said: “Beware of comparison. My soul is in His hand. If you were to decide, you would make lawful the forbidden and make unlawful the lawful, but what has informed you of those among the companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings of God be upon him, who has memorized And peace be upon him, so act upon him.”

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبَانَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَاتِمٌ هُوَ ابْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ عِيسَى ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَقَالَ :" كَانَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ فِيهِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَ : أَخْبِرْنِي أَنْتَ بِرَأْيِكَ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ هَذَا؟ أَخْبَرْتُهُ عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَيَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ رَأْيِي، وَدِينِي عِنْدِي آثَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ أَتَغَنَّى أُغْنِيَّةً أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أُخْبِرَكَ بِرَأْيِي "

Ismail bin Aban told us, Hatim, who is the son of Ismail, told me on the authority of Isa, on the authority of Al-Sha’bi, he said: A man came to him asking him about Something, and he said: “Ibn Masoud used to say such-and-such about it. He said: Tell me what you think. So he said: Aren’t you surprised by this? I told him.” On the authority of Ibn Masoud, and he asks me about my opinion, and my religion is better than that, and by God, for me to sing a song is more beloved to me than to tell you "In my opinion"

حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَكَّامُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ عَطَاءٌ عَنْ شَيْءٍ، قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ : قِيلَ لَهُ : أَلَا تَقُولُ فِيهَا بِرَأْيِكَ؟، قَالَ :" إِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ اللَّهِ G أَنْ يُدَانَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِرَأْيِي "

Mukhlid bin Malik told us, Hakam bin Salam told us, on the authority of Abu Khaythamah, on the authority of Abdul Aziz bin Rafi’, he said: Ata was asked about Something. He said: I don’t know. أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ :" مَا قُلْتُ بِرَأْيِي مُنْذُ ثَلَاثُونَ سَنَةً "، قَالَ أَبُو هِلَالٍ : " مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً "

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ :" أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَقُولُ بِرَأْيِهِ إِلَّا شَيْئًا سَمِعَهُ "

Abdullah bin Saeed told us, Hafs told us, on the authority of Ash’ath, on the authority of Ibn Sirin: “He did not express his opinion except something he heard.”

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّزَّالَ بْنَ سَبْرَةَ ، قَالَ :" شَهِدْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ وَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَةٌ فِي تَحْرِيمٍ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ بَيَّنَ، فَمَنْ أَتَى الْأَمْرَ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ، فَقَدْ بُيِّنَ، وَمَنْ خَالَفَ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نُطِيقُ خِلَافَكُمْ "

Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi told us, Shu`bah told us, Abd al-Malik ibn Maysarah told me, he said: I heard al-Nazzal ibn Sabra, he said: I witnessed Abdullah and a man and a woman came to him in a prohibition, and he said: God has made it clear, so whoever comes to the matter before His face, it has been made clear. أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ النَّزَّالِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ ، قَالَ :" مَا خَطَبَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ خُطْبَةً بِالْكُوفَةِ إِلَّا شَهِدْتُهَا، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَوْمًا، وَسُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ يُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَمَانِيَةً وَأَشْبَاهِ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ : هُوَ كَمَا، قَالَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَنْزَلَ كِتَابَهُ وَبَيَّنَ بَيَانَهُ، فَمَنْ أَتَى الْأَمْرَ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ فَقَدْ بُيِّنَ لَهُ، وَمَنْ خَالَفَ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نُطِيقُ خِلَافَكُمْ "

Abu Nu'aym told us, Al-Mas'udi told us, on the authority of Abd al-Malik ibn Maysara, on the authority of al-Nazzal ibn Sabra, he said: “What is wrong with Abdullah? I witnessed a sermon in Kufa, so I heard him one day, and he was asked about a man who divorces his wife eight times or something like that. He said: It is as it is. He said, then he said: Indeed, God sent down His Book and made its explanation clear, so whoever comes to the matter from His face, it has been made clear to him, and whoever disagrees, by God it will not "We tolerate your differences"

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَحُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا جَالِسَيْنِ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَسَأَلَهُمَا عَنْ شَيْءٍ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ لِحُذَيْفَةَ :" لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَرَى يَسْأَلُونِي عَنْ هَذَا؟، قَالَ : يَعْلَمُونَهُ ثُمَّ يَتْرُكُونَهُ، فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ : مَا سَأَلْتُمُونَا عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى نَعْلَمُهُ، أَخْبَرْنَاكُمْ بِهِ، أَوْ سُنَّةٍ مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرْنَاكُمْ بِهِ، وَلَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِمَا أَحْدَثْتُمْ "

Amr bin Aoun informed us, on the authority of Khalid bin Abdullah, on the authority of Ata’, on the authority of Amer, on the authority of Ibn Masoud, and Hudhayfah, may God be pleased with him. About them, they were sitting and a man came and asked them about something. Ibn Masoud said to Hudhayfah: “For what do you think they are asking me about?” This? He said: They teach it and then leave it. Then Ibn Masoud came to him and said: You have not asked us about anything from the Book of God Almighty that we know. We told you about it, or a Sunnah from the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, we told you about it, and we have no power over what you have narrated.”

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، قَالَ :" إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْأَهْوَاءِ أَهْلُ الضَّلَالَةِ، وَلَا أَرَى مَصِيرَهُمْ إِلَّا إِلَي النَّارَ، فَجَرِّبْهُمْ فَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ يَنْتَحِلُ قَوْلًا أَوْ قَالَ : حَدِيثًا فَيَتَنَاهَى بِهِ الْأَمْرُ دُونَ السَّيْفِ، وَإِنَّ النِّفَاقَ كَانَ ضُرُوبًا، ثُمَّ تَلَا : # وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ عَاهَدَ اللَّهَ لَئِنْ آتَانَا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ سورة التوبة آية 75 #، # وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَلْمِزُكَ فِي الصَّدَقَاتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا مِنْهَا رَضُوا وَإِنْ لَمْ يُعْطَوْا مِنْهَا إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ سورة التوبة آية 58 #، # وَمِنْهُمُ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ النَّبِيَّ وَيِقُولُونَ هُوَ أُذُنٌ قُلْ أُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَكُمْ سورة التوبة آية 61 # فَاخْتَلَفَ قَوْلُهُمْ وَاجْتَمَعُوا، فِي الشَّكِّ وَالتَّكْذِيبِ، وَإِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ اخْتَلَفَ قَوْلُهُمْ وَاجْتَمَعُوا فِي السَّيْفِ، وَلَا أَرَى مَصِيرَهُمْ إِلَّا إِلَي النَّارَ "، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ عِنْدَ ذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَوْ عِنْدَ الْأَوَّلِ : وَكَانَ وَاللَّهِ مِنْ الْفُقَهَاءِ ذَوِي الْأَلْبَابِ : يَعْنِي أَبَا قِلَابَةَ

Suleiman bin Harb told us, Hammad bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Abu Qalaba, he said: “Indeed, the people of desires are the people of misguidance. And I do not see their destination except to Hell, so try them, for none of them impersonates a word or said: a hadith, and the matter ends with it without the sword, and indeed Hypocrisy was a kind of cruelty. Then he recited: #And among them are those who covenanted with God: If He gave us of His bounty, we would surely believe and be among the righteous. Surat Al-Tawbah, Verse 75 #, #And among them are those He pushes you regarding alms. If they are given some of it, they are satisfied, but if they are not given some of it, then they become angry. Surat Al-Tawbah, Verse 58 #And among them are those who offend the Prophet. And they say, “It is an ear.” Say, “A better ear for you.” Surat Al-Tawbah, Verse 61 # Then their speech differed, and they gathered together in doubt and disbelief. And indeed, these people differed in their speech. And they gathered together to the sword, and I do not see their destination except to the Fire.” Hammad said: Then Ayoub said at the time of Dhul-Hadith or at the beginning: And it happened, by God.
