أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ :" النُّفَسَاءُ تَجْلِسُ نَحْوًا مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا "

Abu Nu`aym told us, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Yusuf ibn Mahak, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said: “The postpartum woman sits for about forty days.”
