Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #412

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ سُفْيَانُ :" أَيُجَامِعُ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ إِذَا انْقَطَعَ عَنْهَا الدَّمُ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ؟، فَقَالَ : لَا، فَقِيلَ : أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ تَرَكَتْ الْغُسْلَ يَوْمَيْنِ أَوْ أَيَّامًا؟، قَالَ : تُسْتَتَابُ "
Muhammad ibn Yusuf told us, he said: Sufyan was asked: “Should a man have intercourse with his wife if the blood has stopped from her before she washes?” So he said: No. It was said: What do you think if she neglected washing for two or more days? He said: She will be asked to repent.
