Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1501

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ :" مَا ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَادِمًا قَطُّ، وَلَا ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ شَيْئًا قَطُّ إِلَّا أَنْ يُجَاهِدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ G "
Ja`far bin Aoun told us, Hisham bin Urwa told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, who said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not strike May God bless him and grant him peace. He never greeted a servant, and he never struck anything with his hand unless he fought in the cause of God.
