حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاق ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ :" إِذَا شَرِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَاضْرِبُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ، فَاضْرِبُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ، فَاضْرِبُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ الرَّابِعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ "

Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Raqqashi told us, Yazid told us he is Ibn Zurai’, Muhammad told us he is Ibn Ishaq, Abdullah bin Utba bin Urwa bin Masoud Al-Thaqafi, on the authority of Amr bin Al-Sharid, on the authority of his father, said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: “If one of you drinks, beat him, then if he comes again, beat him, then if he comes again, beat him, then if he comes again the fourth time, kill him.”
