Sahl bin Hammad told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abu Bishr, on the authority of Sa’id bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ibn Abbas: that a woman vowed To perform Hajj, then she died. Then her brother came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and asked him about that. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to him: “If she had a debt, would you have settled it?”
He said: Yes.
He said: “So repay God, for God is more deserving of fulfillment.”
