Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1638

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ :" وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الذَّهَبِ أَلْفُ دِينَارٍ "
Al-Hakam bin Musa narrated to us, Yahya bin Hamza narrated to us, on the authority of Suleiman bin Dawud, he said: Al-Zuhri narrated to me, on the authority of Abu Bakr bin Muhammad. Ibn Amr Ibn Hazm, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, wrote to the people of Yemen: “And upon the people of gold… "A thousand dinars"
