Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1725

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحِزَامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا أَرَادَ غَزْوَةً وَرَّى بِغَيْرِهَا "
Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Hazami informed us, Ibn al-Mubarak told us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Ka`b ibn Malik, on the authority of Ka'b bin Malik, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “when he wanted to conduct a campaign, he would see something else.”
