أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَارِبَ بْنَ دِثَارٍ يَذْكُرُ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْيَطْرُقَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا، أَوْ يُخَوِّنَهُمْ، أَوْ يَلْتَمِسَ عَثَرَاتِهِمْ ".
قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : قَوْلُهُ : أَوْ يُخَوِّنَهُمْ، أَوْ يَلْتَمِسَ عَثَرَاتِهِمْ، مَا أَدْرِي : شَيْءٌ.
قَالَهُ مُحَارِبٌ : أَوْ شَيْءٌ هُوَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ

Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Sufyan told us, he said: I heard Muharib bin Dathar mentioning, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, he said: “The Messenger of God forbade May God bless him and grant him peace. Should a man go to his family at night, or betray them, or seek out their faults?
Sufyan said: His saying: or he betrays them, or seeks out their faults, I don’t know: something.
A warrior said it: Or something that is in the hadith.
