أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" مَنْ لَمْ يَقْرَأْ بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ، فَلَا صَلَاةَ لَهُ "

Othman bin Umar told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Mahmoud bin Al-Rabi’, on the authority of Ubadah bin Al-Samit, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever does not recite the Mother of the Book, there is no prayer for him.”
