أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَزْهَرَ، وَالْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ، أَرْسَلُوهُ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالُوا : " اقْرَأْ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَامَ مِنَّا جَمِيعًا، وَسَلْهَا عَنْ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، وَقُلْ : إِنَّا أُخْبِرْنَا أَنَّكِ تُصَلِّينَهُمَا، وَقَدْ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُمَا.
قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : وَكُنْتُ أَضْرِبُ مَعَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهِمَا.
قَالَ كُرَيْبٌ : فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهَا وَبَلَّغْتُهَا مَا أَرْسَلُونِي بِهِ.
فَقَالَتْ : سَلْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ .
فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُمْ بِقَوْلِهَا، فَرَدُّونِي إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ بِمِثْلِ مَا أَرْسَلُونِي إِلَى عَائِشَةَ .
فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَيَنْهَى عَنْهُمَا، ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّيهِمَا، أَمَّا حِينَ صَلَّاهُمَا، فَإِنَّهُ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ وَعِنْدِي نِسْوَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي حَرَامٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَصَلَّاهُمَا، فَأَرْسَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ الْجَارِيَةَ، فَقُلْتُ : قُومِي بِجَنْبِهِ، فَقُولِي : أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ تَقُولُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَلَمْ أَسْمَعْكَ تَنْهَى عَنْ هَاتَيْنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، وَأَرَاكَ تُصَلِّيهِمَا؟ فَإِنْ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَاسْتَأْخِرِي عَنْهُ، قَالَتْ : فَفَعَلَتْ الْجَارِيَةُ، فَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَاسْتَأْخَرَتْ عَنْهُ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ، قَالَ : " يَا ابْنَةَ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، سَأَلْتِ عَنْ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ؟ إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي نَاسٌ مِنْ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ بِالْإِسْلَامِ مِنْ قَوْمِهِمْ، فَشَغَلُونِي عَنْ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ، فَهُمَا هَاتَانِ ".
سُئِلَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا أَقُولُ بِحَدِيثِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ، وَلَا بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ "

Ahmad bin Issa told us, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, Amr bin Al-Harith told me, on the authority of Bukayr bin Al-Ashjaj, on the authority of Kurayb A servant of Ibn Abbas, that Abdullah bin Abbas, Abd al-Rahman bin Azhar, and al-Miswar bin Makhramah sent him to Aisha’s husband. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they said: “Recite to her, peace be upon her, from all of us, and ask her about the two rak’ahs after the afternoon prayer, and say: We were informed that you You pray them, and we have learned that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade them.
Ibn Abbas said: I used to attack people with Omar bin Al-Khattab.
Kurayb said: So I entered upon her and conveyed to her what they sent me with.
She said: Ask Umm Salamah.
So I went out to them and told them what she had said, and they sent me back to Umm Salamah in the same way they had sent me to Aisha.
Umm Salamah said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbidding them, then I saw him praying them, but when he prayed them, he prayed the afternoon prayer. Then he entered and I had some women from Bani Haram from the Ansar with me. He led them in prayer, so I sent the maid to him and said: Stand beside him, so say: Umm Salamah. You say: O Messenger of God, did I not hear you forbidding these two rak’ahs, and I see you praying them? So if he gestured with his hand, then delay it for him, she said: So the maid did so, so he gestured with his hand and she delayed it for him. When he left, he said: “O daughter Abu Umayyah, you asked about the two rak’ahs after the afternoon prayer. Some people from Abdul Qais came to me to convert to Islam from their people, and they distracted me from the prayer. The two rak’ahs after the noon prayer are these.”
Abu Muhammad was asked about this hadith, and he said: I say according to the hadith of Omar, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “There is no prayer after the afternoon prayer until sunset.” the sun, nor after dawn until the sun rises.”
