أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا "، فَلَمْ يَبْقَ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا سَجَدَ، إِلَّا شَيْخٌ أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصا فَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى جَبْهَتِهِ وَقَالَ : يَكْفِينِي هَذَا

Abu Al-Walid Al-Tayalisi told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Al-Aswad, on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “read the star and prostrated therein,” and no one remained but prostrated, except an old man who took a handful of pebbles and raised it to his forehead.
