حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَغَرُّ صَاحِبَا أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تَبَارَكَ اسْمُهُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ حِينَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، فَيَقُولُ : مَنْ يَدْعُونِي فَأَسْتَجِيبَ لَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُنِي فَأَغْفِرَ لَهُ؟ مَنْ يَسْأَلُنِي فَأُعْطِيَهُ؟ حَتَّى الْفَجْرِ "

Al-Hakam bin Nafi’ narrated to us, on the authority of Shuaib bin Abi Hamza, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, Abu Salama bin Abd al-Rahman and Abu Abd narrated to me By God, Abu Hurairah’s companion, Abu Hurairah, told them that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Our Lord, Blessed be He, will descend.” His name: Every night when the last third of the night had passed, he would go to the lowest heaven and say: Who will call upon Me that I may respond to him? Who will ask forgiveness of Me that I may forgive? For him? Who asks of Me, that I may give him until dawn?
