أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبأَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ، فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ، نَزَلَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ "

Yazid ibn Harun informed us, Hisham al-Dastawai informed us, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, on the authority of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Thawban, on the authority of Jabir, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray on his mount towards the east, so if he wanted to pray prescribed, he descended and faced the Qiblah.”
