Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #872

أَخْبَرَنَا صَدَقَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَمَرْوَانُ يَخْطُبُ،" فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَأَتَاهُ الْحَرَسُ يَمْنَعُونَهُ، فَقَالَ : مَا كُنْتُ أَتْرُكُهُمَا وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِهِمَا "
Sadaqa told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Ibn Ajlan, on the authority of Iyadh bin Abdullah, who said: Abu Sa`id and Marwan came to deliver the sermon, so he stood up He was praying two rak'ahs, but the guards came to him and prevented him, so he said: I would not leave them when I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordering them to be done.
