Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #878

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَيَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ، وَكَانَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمَا بِجُلُوسٍ "
Musaddad narrated to us, Bishr bin Al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Ubayd Allah narrated to us, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He used to deliver two sermons while standing, and he would separate them by sitting.”
