Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2010

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ؟، قَالَ :" مَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ، وَحَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ "، قَالَ : فَأَيُّ النَّاسِ شَرٌّ؟، قَالَ : " مَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ، وَسَاءَ عَمَلُهُ "، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ بِإِسْنَادِهِ، مِثْلَهُ
Abu Nu'aym told us, Zuhair told us, on the authority of Ali bin Zayd bin Jad'an, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakra, on the authority of Abu Bakra: A man said: O Messenger of God, which people are best? He said: He who has a long life and does good deeds. He said: Which people are evil? He said: He who has a long life. And his deeds were bad.” Hajjaj told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Ali bin Zayd, with his chain of transmission, similar to him.
