أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ دُرَيْكٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جُمُعَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ حَدِّثْنَا : حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ أُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا جَيِّدًا : تَغَدَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَحَدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا؟ أَسْلَمْنَا وَجَاهَدْنَا مَعَكَ؟، قَالَ : " نَعَمْ،قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي "

Abu Al-Mughirah told us, he said: Al-Awza’i told us, Asid bin Abdul Rahman told us, on the authority of Khalid bin Duraik, on the authority of Ibn Muhayriz. He said: I told Abu Jumah, a man of the Companions, who told us: a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: Yes, I will tell you a good hadith. We had lunch with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and with us was Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah. He said: O Messenger of God, is anyone better than us? Did we submit to Islam and fight with you? He said: “Yes, there will be a people after you who will believe in me and have not seen me.”
