Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2179

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ فِي سِتَّةِ إِخْوَةٍ وَجَدٍّ، قَالَ :" أَعْطِ الْجَدَّ السُّدُسَ.
قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : كَأَنَّهُ يَعْنِي : عَلِيًّا رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ الشَّعْبِيُّ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ
Abu Nu’aym told us, Hassan told us, on the authority of Ismail, on the authority of Al-Sha’bi regarding six brothers and a grandfather. He said: “Give the grandfather a sixth.
Abu Muhammad said: As if he meant: Ali, may God be pleased with him. Al-Shabi narrated it on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him.
