حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ :" أَيُّمَا حُرٍّ تَزَوَّجَ أَمَةً، فَقَدْ أَرَقَّ نِصْفَهُ، وَأَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ تَزَوَّجَ حُرَّةً، فَقَدْ أَعْتَقَ نِصْفَهُ، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : يَعْنِي الْوَلَدَ

Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, on the authority of Sa’id, that Omar said: “Any free man who marries a female slave will lose half of his life, and whoever A slave married a free woman, and he freed half of him. Abu Muhammad said: meaning the child.
