Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2458

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ :" إِنَّمَا كَانُوا يُوصُونَ بِالْخُمُسِ وَالرُّبُعِ، وَكَانَ الثُّلُثُ مُنْتَهَى الْجَامِحِ.
قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : يَعْنِي بِالْجَامِحِ : الْفَرَسَ الْجَمُوحَ
Ya’la told us, Ismail told us, on the authority of Amer, who said: “They only ordered one-fifth and a quarter, and a third was the most unjustified amount.
Abu Muhammad said: What he means by “al-jamhih” is: an unruly horse.
