حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ جَعَلَ دَرَاهِمَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَتَصَدَّقُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ أَوْ يُعْتِقُ، كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَعْدَ مَا شَبِعَ "

Abd Al-Samad bin Abd Al-Warith narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Habiba, he said: I asked Abu Al-Darda’ On the authority of a man who made dirhams for the sake of God. Abu al-Darda’ said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Like someone who gives in charity when he dies or He will be freed, like one who guides after he has had his fill.”
