Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2501

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ :" إِذَا أَوْصَى الرَّجُلُ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ وَهُوَ غَائِبٌ، فَلْيَقْبَلْ وَصِيَّتَهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ حَاضِرًا، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ : إِنْ شَاءَ، قَبِلَ، وَإِنْ شَاء، َتَرَكَ "
Abu Al-Numan told us, Hushaym told us, Mansour told us, on the authority of Al-Hasan, that he used to say: “If a man bequeaths to another… And he is absent, let him accept his will, and if he is present, then he has the choice: if he wishes, he may accept, and if he wishes, he may leave.”
