حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ كِتَابًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِأَلْفَيْ عَامٍ، فَأَنْزَلَ مِنْهُ آيَتَيْنِ خَتَمَ بِهِمَا سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ ، وَلَا تُقْرَآنِ فِي دَارٍ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ فَيَقْرَبُهَا شَيْطَانٌ "

Affan told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, Ash’ath bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jarmi told us, on the authority of Abu Qalabah, on the authority of Abu Al-Ash’ath Al-San’ani, on the authority of Al-Nu’man bin Bashir: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Indeed, God wrote a book before He created the heavens.” And the earth for two thousand years. Then He sent down from it two verses with which He concluded Surah Al-Baqarah. And it should not be recited in any house for three nights, lest Satan approach it.
