أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ :" لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ، وَالْكِسْرَةُ وَالْكِسْرَتَانِ، وَالتَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ، وَلَكِنْ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ غِنًى يُغْنِيهِ، يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا، أَوْ لَا يَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا "

Hashim bin Al-Qasim told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ziyad, he said: I heard Abu Hurairah speaking, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. And peace be upon him, because he said: “It is not the poor person who is rejected by one morsel and two morsels, a kasrah and two morsels, and one date and two dates, but the poor He who has no wealth to enrich him, is ashamed to ask people urgently, or does not ask people urgently.”
