Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #1391

حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِذَا سَكِرَ، فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِذَا سَكِرَ، فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِذَا سَكِرَ، فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِذَا سَكِرَ، فَاضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ ".

Asim bin Ali told us, Ibn Abi Dhib told us, on the authority of Al-Harith bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If he is intoxicated, flog him. Then when he is intoxicated, flog him. Then when he is intoxicated, flog him. Then if he is intoxicated, flog him. He is drunk, so behead him.”
