  • Jami’ al-Tirmidhi – جامع الترمذي – Hadith #148

    قَالَ سَعِيدٌ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، نَحْوَ هَذَا ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَابْنِ، عَبَّاسٍ وَوَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ أَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَوَى يُونُسُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏.‏

    حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، وَسَعِيدٍ ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالُوا : فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ :" تَغْتَسِلُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ لِصَلَاةِ الْأُولَى وَالْعَصْرِ، فَتُصَلِّيهِمَا، وَتَغْتَسِلُ لِلْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَتُصَلِّيهِمَا، وَتَغْتَسِلُ لِصَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ "
    Zakaria bin Adi told us, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Amr, on the authority of Abdul Karim, on the authority of Ata’, Sa’id, and Ikrimah. They said: In The woman with istihaadah: “She bathes every day for the first and afternoon prayers, and she prays them, and she bathes for the sunset and evening prayers, and she prays them, and she performs them.” for the morning prayer"

    أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ، مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ، – رضى الله عنه – قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏
    "‏ مَا مِنِ امْرِئٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي الصَّلاَةَ إِلاَّ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الصَّلاَةِ الأُخْرَى حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏
    'Uthman said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'There is no man who performs Wudu' and does it well, then prays, but when he prays it, he will be forgiven whatever (sins he commits) between that and the next prayer."

    حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَالِسٌ فَصَلَّى فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلاَ تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا ‏.‏ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ ‏"‏ لَقَدْ تَحَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَسْرَعَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ أَهْرِيقُوا عَلَيْهِ سَجْلاً مِنْ مَاءٍ أَوْ دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
    Abu Hurairah narrated: "A Bedouin entered the Masjid while the Prophet was sitting. He prayed, then when he was finished, he said: 'O Allah! Have mercy upon me and Muhammad, and do not have mercy on anyone along with us.' The Prophet turned, towards him and said: 'You have restricted something that is unrestricted.' It was not long before he was urinating in the Masjid. So the people rushed to him. But Prophet said: 'Pour a bucket of water over it – or – a tumbler of water over it.' Then he said: 'You have been sent to make things easy (for the people); you have not been sent to make things difficult for them.'"

    أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ إِذَا خَلَفَتْ قُرُوءُهَا :" فَإِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْعَصْرِ تَوَضَّأَتْ وُضُوءًا سَابِغًا ثُمَّ لِتَأْخُذْ ثَوْبًا، فَلْتَسْتَثْفِرْ بِهِ، ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ لِتَفْعَلْ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا، ثُمَّ لِتَفْعَلْ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ "
    Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, on the authority of Uthman ibn al-Aswad, on the authority of Mujahid regarding the woman with istihaadah if she neglected to recite it: “If it was at In the afternoon, she performed a thorough ablution, then to take a garment and cover herself with it, then to pray the noon and afternoon prayers together, then to do something like That, then to pray both Maghrib and Isha’, then to do the same, then to pray Fajr.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمْرَانَ بْنَ أَبَانَ، أَخْبَرَ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ، فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏
    "‏ مَنْ أَتَمَّ الْوُضُوءَ كَمَا أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَالصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ كَفَّارَاتٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
    It was narrated that Jami' bin Shaddad said: "I heard Humran bin Aban tell Abu Burdah in the Masjid that he heard 'Uthman narrating that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever performs Wudu' completely as commanded by Allah, the five daily prayers will be an expiation for whatever comes in between them.'"

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، وَابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلِمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُقْرِئُنَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ جُنُبًا ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَلِيٍّ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَبِهِ قَالَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالتَّابِعِينَ ‏.‏ قَالُوا يَقْرَأُ الرَّجُلُ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ وَلاَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمُصْحَفِ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ طَاهِرٌ ‏.‏ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَالشَّافِعِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ ‏.‏
    Ali narrated: "Allah's Messenger would recite the Qur'an in all conditions, as long as he was not Junub."

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #146

    أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ فِي الْمُسْتَحَاضَةِ :" تَغْتَسِلُ غُسْلًا وَاحِدًا لِلظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ، وَغُسْلًا لِلْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ "، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ : " تُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ وَتُعَجِّلُ الْعَصْرَ وَتُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَتُعَجِّلُ الْعِشَاءَ "
    Al-Hasan bin Al-Rabi’ told us, Abu Al-Ahwas told us, on the authority of Abdul Aziz bin Rafi’, on the authority of Ata’, he said: Ibn Abbas was satisfied God said about them regarding the need for menstruation: “You must bathe once for the noon and afternoon prayers, and once for the sunset and evening prayers,” and He used to say: “Delay “Dhuhr and advances the afternoon prayer, delays the sunset prayers, and advances the evening prayers.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، أَنَّهُمْ غَزَوْا غَزْوَةَ السَّلاَسِلِ فَفَاتَهُمُ الْغَزْوُ فَرَابَطُوا ثُمَّ رَجَعُوا إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ فَقَالَ عَاصِمٌ يَا أَبَا أَيُّوبَ فَاتَنَا الْغَزْوُ الْعَامَ وَقَدْ أُخْبِرْنَا أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ الأَرْبَعَةِ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَيْسَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏
    "‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ كَمَا أُمِرَ وَصَلَّى كَمَا أُمِرَ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا قَدَّمَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ أَكَذَلِكَ يَا عُقْبَةُ قَالَ نَعَمْ ‏.‏
    It was narrated from 'Asim bin Sufyan Ath-Thaqafi that they went out for the battle of As-Salasil, but they missed the fighting, so they kept watch, then they went back to Mu'awiyah, and Abu Ayyub and 'Uqbah bin 'Amir were with him. 'Asim said: "O Abu Ayyub, we missed the general mobilization, but we have been told that whoever prays in the four Masjids will be forgiven his sins." He said: "O son of my brother! I will tell you of something easier than that. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says: 'Whoever performs Wudu' as commanded and prays as commanded, will be forgiven for his previous actions.' Is it not so, O 'Uqbah?" He said: "Yes."

  • Jami’ al-Tirmidhi – جامع الترمذي – Hadith #145

    حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ التَّيَمُّمِ، فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَالَ فِي كِتَابِهِ حِينَ ذَكَرَ الْوُضُوءَ‏:‏ ‏(‏فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إلى المَرَافِقِ‏)‏، وَقَالَ في التَّيَمُّمِ‏:‏ ‏(‏فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ‏)‏ وَقَالَ‏:‏ ‏(‏وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُوا أَيْدِيِهْمَا‏)‏ فَكَانَتِ السُّنَّةُ في القَطْعِ الكَفَّينِ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ الوَجْهُ وَالكَفَّانِ، يَعْنِي التَّيَمُّمَ‏"‏‏.‏
    Ikrimah narrated that : Ibn Abbas was asked ahout Tayammum. He said: "When Allah mentioned Wudu in His Book, He said: "So wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows." And He said about Tayammum: "And rub therewith your faces and hands" And He said: "And the male thief and the female thief; cut off their hands." So the Sunnah for cutting is the two hands. So it is only the face and the hands, meaning, Tayammum."
