  • Sunan an-Nasa’i – سنن النسائي – Hadith #121

    أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ، – وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ – عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ‏.‏
    It was narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wiped over the Khuffs.

    حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَقِيَهُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ قَالَ فَانْبَجَسْتُ أَىْ فَانْخَنَسْتُ فَاغْتَسَلْتُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ أَيْنَ كُنْتَ أَوْ أَيْنَ ذَهَبْتَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قُلْتُ إِنِّي كُنْتُ جُنُبًا ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ لاَ يَنْجُسُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَخَّصَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي مُصَافَحَةِ الْجُنُبِ وَلَمْ يَرَوْا بِعَرَقِ الْجُنُبِ وَالْحَائِضِ بَأْسًا ‏.‏ وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ فَانْخَنَسْتُ يَعْنِي تَنَحَّيْتُ عَنْهُ ‏.‏
    Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Prophet met him while he was Junub. He said: " I withdrew – to perform Ghusl. Then he returned, so he said: 'Where have you been?' Or: 'Where did you go?' I replied: 'I was Junub.' So he said: 'Indeed the believer is not defiled.'''

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا : أَنَّ ابْنَةَ جَحْشٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" بِالْغُسْلِ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَتَدْخُلُ الْمِرْكَنَ وَإِنَّهُ لَمَمْلُوءٌ مَاءً، فَتَنْغَمِسُ فِيهِ، ثُمَّ تَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ، وَإِنَّ الدَّمَ فَوْقَهُ لَغَالِبُهُ، فَتُصَلِّي "
    Yazid bin Harun informed us, Muhammad bin Ishaq informed us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her: that the daughter of A female colt underwent menstruation at the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered her to wash for every prayer. She would enter the place, and it was filled with water, and immerse herself in it, and then come out of it, and the blood was overwhelming over it, so she would pray.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، دُحَيْمٌ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ – وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ – عَنِ ابْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَبِلاَلٌ الأَسْوَاقَ فَذَهَبَ لِحَاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً مَا صَنَعَ فَقَالَ بِلاَلٌ ذَهَبَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِحَاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى ‏.‏
    It was narrated that Usamah bin Zaid said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and Bilal entered Al-Aswaf and he went to relieve himself and then came out." Usamah said: "I asked Bilal: 'What did he do?' Bilal said: 'The Prophet (ﷺ) went to relieve himself, then he performed Wudu', so he washed his hands and face, and wiped his head and he wiped over his Khuffs, then prayed.'"

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَيَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ قَالَ ‏
    "‏ نَعَمْ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ وَعَائِشَةَ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ أَحْسَنُ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ وَأَصَحُّ ‏.‏ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالتَّابِعِينَ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيُّ وَأَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ قَالُوا إِذَا أَرَادَ الْجُنُبُ أَنْ يَنَامَ تَوَضَّأَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ ‏.‏
    Umar narrated that : he asked the Prophet: "Can one of us sleep while he is Junub?" So he replied: "Yes, when he performs Wudu."

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #120

    أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ، أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟، قَالَ :" لَا، إِنَّمَا ذَلِكِ عِرْقٌ، فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتْ الْحَيْضَةُ، فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ، فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ، وَصَلِّي "
    Ja`far bin Aoun told us, Hisham bin Urwa told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, who said: Fatima, daughter of Abu Hubaysh went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and she said: O Messenger of God, I am a woman who is menstruating and has not become pure. Should I give up prayer? He said: No, that is just a blood clot, so when your period comes, give up prayer, and when it comes, wash off the blood and pray.”

    أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ ‏.‏
    It was narrated from Ja'far bin 'Amr bin Umayyah Ad-Damri that his father saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performing Wudu' and wiping over his Khuffs.

    حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، نَحْوَهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا قَوْلُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ وَغَيْرِهِ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَوَى غَيْرُ، وَاحِدٍ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ ‏.‏ وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ شُعْبَةُ وَالثَّوْرِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ ‏.‏ وَيَرَوْنَ أَنَّ هَذَا غَلَطٌ مِنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ‏.‏
    Abu Ishaq: There is a similar report (as no. 1I8) narrated via Abu Ishaq.

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ : سَأَلَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْحَيْضِ؟، قَالَ :" خُذِي مَاءَكِ وَسِدْرَكِ، ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي وَأَنْقِي، ثُمَّ صُبِّي عَلَى رَأْسِكِ حَتَّى تَبْلُغِي شُؤُونَ الرَّأْسِ، ثُمَّ خُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً "، قَالَتْ : كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ، قَالَتْ : فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : خُذِي فِرْصَةً مُمَسَّكَةً فَتَتَبَّعِي بِهَا آثَارَ الدَّمِ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَسْمَعُ، فَمَا أَنْكَرَ عَلَيْهَا "
    Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Israel told us, on the authority of Ibrahim bin Muhajir, on the authority of Safiya bint Shaybah bin Uthman, on the authority of Aisha, Umm The believers, may God be pleased with her, said: A woman from the Ansar asked the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about menstruation? He said: “Take your water.” And your cup, then wash and cleanse yourself, then pour it over your head until you complete the affairs of the head, then take a long time.” She said: “How should I do with it?” O Messenger of God? She remained silent and said: So what should I do, O Messenger of God? She remained silent, then Aisha said: Take a strong chance and trace the traces of blood with it, while the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “listened,” but he did not disapprove of her.

    أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَتَمْسَحُ فَقَالَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَمْسَحُ ‏.‏ وَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُعْجِبُهُمْ قَوْلُ جَرِيرٍ وَكَانَ إِسْلاَمُ جَرِيرٍ قَبْلَ مَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَسِيرٍ ‏.‏
    It was narrated from Jarir bin 'Abdullah that he performed Wudu' and wiped over his Khuffs. it was said to him: "Are you wiping (over you Khuffs)?" He said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wiping (over his Khuffs)." The companions of 'Abdullah liked what Jarir said, because Jarir became Muslim shortly before the Prophet (ﷺ) died.

    In the narration recorded by At-Tirmidhi Nos. 93,94) this comment is attributed to Ibrahim, one of the narrators.
