  • Sunan an-Nasa’i – سنن النسائي – Hadith #31

    أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ وَكِيعٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى قَبْرَيْنِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّهُمَا يُعَذَّبَانِ وَمَا يُعَذَّبَانِ فِي كَبِيرٍ أَمَّا هَذَا فَكَانَ لاَ يَسْتَنْزِهُ مِنْ بَوْلِهِ وَأَمَّا هَذَا فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْشِي بِالنَّمِيمَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِعَسِيبٍ رَطْبٍ فَشَقَّهُ بِاثْنَيْنِ فَغَرَسَ عَلَى هَذَا وَاحِدًا وَعَلَى هَذَا وَاحِدًا ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏ لَعَلَّهُ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَيْبَسَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ خَالَفَهُ مَنْصُورٌ رَوَاهُ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ طَاوُسًا ‏.‏
    It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by two graves and said: 'These two are being punished, but they are not being punished for something that was difficult to avoid. As for this, he used not to take precautions to avoid (his body to clothes being soiled by) urine, and this one used to walk around spreading malicious gossip.' Then he called for a fresh palm-leaf stalk and split it in two, and placed one piece on each of the two graves. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you do that?' He said: 'Perhaps the torment will be reduced for them so long as this does not dry out.'"

    Mansur Contradicted him, he reported it from Mujahid from ibn 'Abbas but he did not mention Tawus in it.

  • Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #31

    أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :" أَكْثَرْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي السِّوَاكِ "
    Yahya bin Hassan told us, Saeed bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Shuaib bin Al-Habhab, on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “I am more knowledgeable about the siwak than you.”

  • Jami’ al-Tirmidhi – جامع الترمذي – Hadith #31

    حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏
    'Uthman bin Affan narrated that : the Prophet would go through his beard."

    أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ، قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَفِي يَدِهِ كَهَيْئَةِ الدَّرَقَةِ فَوَضَعَهَا ثُمَّ جَلَسَ خَلْفَهَا فَبَالَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ انْظُرُوا يَبُولُ كَمَا تَبُولُ الْمَرْأَةُ فَسَمِعَهُ فَقَالَ ‏
    "‏ أَوَمَا عَلِمْتَ مَا أَصَابَ صَاحِبُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانُوا إِذَا أَصَابَهُمْ شَىْءٌ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ قَرَضُوهُ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ فَنَهَاهُمْ صَاحِبُهُمْ فَعُذِّبَ فِي قَبْرِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
    It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Hasanah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to us with a small leather shield in his hand. He put it down, then he sat behind it and urinated toward it. Some of the people said: 'Look, he is urinating like a woman.' He heard that and said: 'Do you not know what happened to the companion of the Children of Israel? If they got any urine on themselves they would clip that part of their garments off. Their companion told them not to do that and he was punished in his grave.'"

    أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَإِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ الْخَلَاءِ، قَالَ : " غُفْرَانَكَ "
    Malik bin Ismail told us, Israel told us, on the authority of Yusuf bin Abi Burdah, on the authority of his father, that Aisha, may God be pleased with her, I told him that whenever the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came out of the toilet, he would say: “Your forgiveness.”

    حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِثْلَهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ وَعَائِشَةَ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَنَسٍ وَابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى وَأَبِي أَيُّوبَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَسَمِعْتُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنَ مَنْصُورٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ مِنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ حَدِيثَ التَّخْلِيلِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَصَحُّ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ حَدِيثُ عَامِرِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَقَالَ بِهَذَا أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ رَأَوْا تَخْلِيلَ اللِّحْيَةِ ‏.‏ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ الشَّافِعِيُّ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ إِنْ سَهَا عَنْ تَخْلِيلِ اللِّحْيَةِ فَهُوَ جَائِزٌ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ إِسْحَاقُ إِنْ تَرَكَهُ نَاسِيًا أَوْ مُتَأَوِّلاً أَجْزَأَهُ وَإِنْ تَرَكَهُ عَامِدًا أَعَادَ ‏.‏
    (In another narration) Ammar narrated : the same from the Prophet.

  • Sunan an-Nasa’i – سنن النسائي – Hadith #29

    أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ مَنْ حَدَّثَكُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَالَ قَائِمًا فَلاَ تُصَدِّقُوهُ مَا كَانَ يَبُولُ إِلاَّ جَالِسًا ‏.‏
    It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "Whoever tells you that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) urinated standing up, do not believe him, for he would not urinate except while squatting."

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" ائْتِنِي بِوَضُوءٍ "، " ثُمَّ دَخَلَ غَيْضَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ فَاسْتَنْجَى، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ يَدَهُ بِالتُّرَابِ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ "، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مِثْلَهُ
    Muhammad bin Yusuf informed us, on the authority of Aban bin Abdullah bin Abi Hazim, on the authority of a servant of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Bring me ablution.” Then he entered a forest, so I brought him water and he cleaned himself, then wiped his hand with the dirt. Then he washed his hands.” Muhammad bin Yusuf told us, Aban bin Abdullah told us, Ibrahim bin Jarir bin Abdullah told me, on the authority of his father May God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, similarly

    حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُخَارِقِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَمَّارَ بْنَ يَاسِرٍ تَوَضَّأَ فَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَوْ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَتُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَكَ قَالَ وَمَا يَمْنَعُنِي وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ ‏.‏
    Hassan bin Bilal said: "1 saw Ammar bin Yasir performing Wudu, so he went through his beard (with his hand). It was said to him" – or he said – "1 said: 'You go through your beard?' He said: 'And what is there to prevent me? Indeed I saw Allah's Messenger going through his beard.'"

  • Sunan an-Nasa’i – سنن النسائي – Hadith #28

    أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا بَهْزٌ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، وَمَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَشَى إِلَى سُبَاطَةِ قَوْمٍ فَبَالَ قَائِمًا ‏.‏ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ مَنْصُورٌ الْمَسْحَ ‏.‏
    It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Prophet (ﷺ) went to some people's garbage dump and urinated while standing. In his narration, Sulaiman bin 'Ubaidullah said: "And he wiped over his Khuffs," but Mansur did not mention the wiping.

    Meaning, in this route, since Shu'bah narrated it from both Sulaiman and Mansur.
