Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2788

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ" يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ، فَمَسَحَهُ "
Othman bin Omar informed us, Muadh bin Al-Ala informed us, on the authority of Nafi’, on the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him He was “delivering a sermon to a man, so when he took the pulpit, the man bent down until he came to him and anointed him.”
