Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2907

أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ فِرَاسٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ فَتًى : مَا تَقُولُ يَا عَمَّاهُ فِي كَذَا وَكَذَا؟، قَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، أَكَانَ هَذَا؟، قَالَ : لَا، قَالَ :" فَأَعْفِنَا حَتَّى يَكُونَ "
Yahya bin Hammad told us, Abu Awanah told us, he said: He told us on the authority of Firas, on the authority of Amir, on the authority of Masruq, he said: I was walking With Ubayy bin Ka’b, may God be pleased with him. A young man said: What do you say, uncle, about such-and-such? He said: O son of my brother, was this? He said: No. He said: “So pardon us until it happens.”
