Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #2932

أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ :" مَنْ عَلِمَ مِنْكُمْ عِلْمًا، فَلْيَقُلْ بِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْلَمْ، فَلْيَقُلْ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ : اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ، فَإِنَّ : الْعَالِمَ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُ، قَالَ : اللَّهُ G أَعْلَمُ، وَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ لِرَسُولِهِ : # قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ سورة ص آية 86 # "
Ja'far bin Aoun told us, on the authority of Al-A'mash, on the authority of Muslim, on the authority of Masruq, on the authority of Abdullah, who said: "Whoever among you knows knowledge, let him say… And whoever does not know, let him say to what he does not know: God knows best, for when the scholar is asked about what he does not know, he says: God knows best, and God has said To His Messenger: #Say: “I do not ask you for it of any reward, and I am not of those who are heedless.” (Surat p. 86)
