أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق الْفَزَارِيِّ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ :" مَا أَخَذَ رَجُلٌ بِبِدْعَةٍ فَرَاجَعَ سُنَّةً "

Muhammad bin Uyaynah told me, on the authority of Abu Ishaq Al-Fazari, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Ayyub, on the authority of Ibn Sirin, who said: “No man undertakes an innovation.” So he returned to the Sunnah.”
