أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ ، وَمَالِكِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ :" الْقَصْدُ فِي السُّنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الِاجْتِهَادِ فِي الْبِدْعَةِ "

Musa bin Khalid told us, Issa bin Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Amara, and Malik bin Al-Harith, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid, on the authority of Abdullah, may God be pleased with him, said: “Being intentional in the Sunnah is better than striving in innovation.”
