أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مَزْيَدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى ابْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ : كَيْفَ عَقْلُهُ؟ فَأَخْبَرَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنَّا لَنَتَحَدَّثُ، أَوْ نَجِدُ فِي الْكُتُبِ أَنَّهُ :" مَا آتَى اللَّهُ سًبْحَانَه عَبْدًا عِلْمًا فَعَمِلَ بِهِ عَلَى سَبِيلِ الْهُدَى، فَيَسْلُبَهُ عَقْلَهُ حَتَّى يَقْبِضَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ "

Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hazim told us, Al-Walid bin Mazyid told us, he said: I heard Abdul Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir speaking, On the authority of Saad, he came to Ibn Munabbih and asked him about Al-Hasan, and said to him: How is his mind? So he told him, then he said: We will talk, or we will find in the books that: “God, Glory be to Him, did not give any servant knowledge and he used it as a way of guidance. So He will rob him of his mind until God takes him back to Him.”
